England: The Plantagenets
The Plantagenant family was of French origin, they were actually a branch of the d'Anjou clan, other branches of which ruled in Arles and Naples, on Cyprus, and, once upon a time, in the Holy Land as well. By the 14th century the English branch was the most distinguished. Most of the English Plantagenets were tough, able men, although not the sort of folks one might want to live next door to.
Members of the family who exist in the game as player characters are:
Edward III (47), presently on the throne, and his sons.
Edward, the Crown Prince (38). Edward's eldest son, became known as the Black Prince.
There are several people who could claim kinship with the Plantagenets, and, depending upon circumstances, might make a bid for the throne of England.
1. David II of Scotland (40), in the name of his wife Joan, aunt to Edward III
2. Jean III de Lothier (130), Duke of Brabant, through his mother, Margaret, aunt to Edward III
3. Humphrey de Bohun (101), Earl of Hereford, in the name of his wife Elizabeth, aunt to Edward III
4. Edmund of Kent (165), cousin of Edward II, in reality dead, but revived for purposes of play balance. Edmund is the father of Joan "The Fair Maid of Kent," a young girl in 1337. In real time Edward III made sure his niece married one of his sons, thereby keeping all that wealth in the family.
