If you, or an NPC are not administering a fief, it is done by the computer for you. This is known as the "Auto-Bailiff." Bailiff was a common term applied to the manager running a fief. The Auto-Bailiff is not a particularly efficient or honest Bailiff, rating a 5 on the NPC analyzer. Fiefs run by an Auto-Bailiff will be haphazardly administered and you can expect a fair amount of embezzlement as well.
