Get Troops

Enter the Travel Menu and go to high population fief. Don't know which ones are high? Then use View Fief <2> to find out. High-population fiefs give better recruiting results.

Then, choose Army <M>anagement, and <R>ecruit in current fief. Enter the number of troops you want to recruit.

WATCH YOUR CASH. You must have 2kd per recruit. You need to have army between 2-3000 men (if you have more attrition will hurt; fewer and you'll have a tough time seizing fiefs).

You CAN recruit two times per turn per fief, usually, so don't get mad if you don't get what you want the first time around.

If you get a message telling you no troops are available and that you should move two fiefs away and try again, this means that someone else has been there and cleaned the place out. This in itself is useful information, because it means someone els, not necessarily friendly to yourself, is in the area with troops.

In a season with a lot of players campaigning in one area, you may have to search quite a distance for fiefs that have troops available.
