Any dispute you have with another player can often be settled by a player holding a superior position. Every Lesser Noble is the vassal of a Great Noble (also called a Magnate) and every Great Noble is the vassal to a king. The Great Noble or king you are subordinate to has the power, not to mention the feudal authority, to settle any dispute among his vassals.

If the person you are in conflict with is subordinate to another noble or king, you cannot easily get the dispute settled by appealing to a liege lord, because your lord must speak to his opposite number who is the Liege Lord of the Noble you are in conflict with.
