Most of the game is played online in the HYW game area, via email messages, via ingame messaging or via the interactive court (IC). The only requirement is that you clearly state who is doing what to whom. For example, to make a marriage legal, the player getting married leaves a message stating the names of the bride and groom and the year and season of marriage. If these announcements are not made, your king or another player will later have legal grounds to challenge the validity of the action you did not announce.
