A player who is hereditary lord of a province (as in Normandy, Burgundy, Brittany, etc) or who has been appointed Count (in France) or Earl (in England) as overlord of a province over all other Nobles who possess fiefs in that county. As a player may end up with fiefs in more than one county, he may have more than one Great Noble he is beholden to.
